Telugu Association of London (TAL) has celebrated Diwali On Trafalgar Square (DOTS) a MAYOR OF LONDON event in partnership with Diwali in London (DiL) committee. DiL comprises of several diverse member organisations with representatives from a cross section of multicultural communities of India who work together in harmony to ensure the seamless running of DOTS. Telugu Association of London (TAL) is part of DIL committee ( www.diwaliinlodnon.com ) and is honoured to chair the committee this year. Trafalgar Square will be transformed into a beacon of light and colour in honour of Diwali on Sunday 3 rd November, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan announced

The festival of lights, which is celebrated by Hindu, Sikh and Jain communities across London and around the world, will see the square come alive with music and dance, food and drink, market stalls and creative activities for the whole family. Telugu Association of London (TAL) had privilege to open and conclude the event. The event was started with lighting the candle, Ganesha stuti and followed by Kuchipudi dance and ended with Laxmi Aarti by TAL Cultural Centre (TCC) team. Telugu Association of London(TAL) has put the Kuchipudi on the world stage with a spectacular performance also added the vibrant stud of Tollywood dance medley to represent the latest generation of youth by TAL teams. Alongside medleys of popular Bollywood songs in Tamil, English and Bengali, visitors can also learn cultural crafts such as how to tie a turban, drape a sari or practise yoga and meditation and take part in a live Garba dance. More than 35000 audience have attended the event where about more than 20 volunteers from TAL organisation has provided their help and support. Telugu Association of London (TAL) board of trustees, Advisors and life members attended the spectacular event. Respectable guest, The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan said: “I want to extend my warmest wishes to everyone celebrating Diwali in London and across the world.
